I am One of Canon’s National Parks Contest Finalists!

Big News Friday I received a call From Canon telling me that I am one of the top ten finalists Canon’s National Parks Contest! I entered in the image of a Moth I took in a park near my home. If you don’t remember what image I am speaking of, here is the image! Boy was I shocked to here this, I was literally dancing in my chair. This is a pretty big contest so to even get in the top ten is amazing. Now the winners where chosen by grade of image from a panel of judges canon chose. All entry’s will be posted on www.usa.canon.com/parks on Oct 28th-Nov. 24th for the public to vote on. The Prize will be determined by photographers final standing at the end of the public voting period. So please vote! Oh and if you’d be so kind and spread the word, I’d be great full. Being in the top ten means I will win at least a $400.00 point-and-shoot for sure. The six honorable mentions of the top 10 win the Canon Powershot G9, but man I would I love to be in the top 4. The Top 4 prizes are even better! The grand prize is a all expense paid week for 2 to any National Park, a 5d + 24-135 f/4L, and a PixmaPro 9500 Printer, First prize is the gear without the trip, 2nd is a 50D plus the “L” lens and printer, and 3rd is the XSi plus kit lens and the printer. Needless to say, I’d love to get the grand prize, but I’m already thrilled to just be in the top 10. It’s always an honor when someone appreciates your work. If i was to win the Grand prize I would use my current DSLR as my backup camera. However, I would choose to go to a national or state park in northern Texas. Why Texas you ask? well My son has only seen his grandparents aunts uncles from his fathers side once. His grandma twice. This would allow us to afford a trip not only for me to photography an amazing park in Texas but also visit family whom we have not seen in three years.
